Teachers are given background in hydrogeology and glacial geology to better understand the concept of groundwater and aquifers.

Teachers will take a field trip to Lake Michigan, see a water well drilled with state-of-the-art technology, and learn how to use Groundwater Model Simulators to take back to their classrooms. The City of Battle Creek’s drinking water supply and the City’s Wellhead Protection Plan will be used as real life examples.
