Yearlong Photo Contest Captures the River's Beauty

Beginning in September 2006 and concluding in July 2007, the Battle Creek Area Clean Water Partnership sponsored a photo contest to show the seasonal beauty of the Kalamazoo River and it tributaries within Calhoun County. The photos were taken during all four seasons and focused on the beauty of the Kalamazoo River watershed. The contest featured two student divisions, kindergarten through sixth grade and seventh through twelfth grade, and an adult division. Prizes were awarded in each division and the top photos are being displayed in a traveling exhibit seen throughout the area at local galleries, businesses, and schools.
